⛓️Why Cardano?

Cardano has been on my radar for a long time, and the main reason is because it’s an environmental and sustainable blockchain compared to the other large ones.

Of course, there are many other great reasons to choose Cardano, so here’s a list:

The Environment

Like already stated, this is the main reason. Cardano is said to be 47,000x more energy-efficient than Bitcoin so this goes without saying. Creating NFTs on a blockchain that is hurting the environment is out of the question. Because of the Cardano proof of stake-protocol, energy consumption is extremely efficient as a smaller amount of electricity, as well as hardware resources, are needed to produce and run the blockchain.

The Technology

Cardano just works — seeing how well the blockchain works, how fast it is, no downtime, low gas fees, smart contracts, scalability and an active developer community working relentlessly to make new and innovative services — the Cardano NFT space has really impressed me in terms of the technology, services being built and how smoothly it all works. Also, rigorous security protocols are incorporated into the Cardano proof of stake-protocol.

The Community

Even before entering the scene, I had heard about how friendly the Cardano crowd was, and that has been proven to me time and time again. I’ve said it many times, I’ve met so many friendly people here who have helped me so much without asking for anything in return, which is a very rare thing on the internet. Cardano has an amazing community, simple as that.

Decentralized

Cardano is truly decentralized. Ouroboros is the first peer-reviewed, verifiably secure blockchain protocol, and Cardano is the first blockchain to implement it. Ouroboros enables the Cardano network’s decentralization, and allows it to sustainably scale to global requirements without compromising security. The risk of centralization is also reduced by issuing penalties for selfish practices within the network.

Founder with a Mission

I’ve been a follower of Charles Hoskinson (founder of Cardano) and his vision of banking the unbanked and providing economic identity to the developing world — I believe in what he’s doing as a leading figure for the blockchain and that he wants to build a better world. This has made the choice for building on Cardano even easier.
